This is the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope [FAST aka
Tianyan] located in the Dawodang depression, a natural basin in Pingtang
County, Guizhou, southwest China. It measures 500 m [1,600 ft] in
diameter making it the world's largest filled-aperture radio telescope and the
second-largest single-dish aperture, after the sparsely-filled RATAN-600 in Russia.
FAST's surface is made of 4450 triangular panels connected to 2225 winches
located underneath which pull on joints between panels, deforming the flexible
steel cable support into a parabolic antenna aligned with the desired sky direction.

It's estimated that there are less than 100 people worldwide that have this ability
with 60 confirmed cases ...including Marilu Henner, who was used as a consultant
on the TV Series Unforgettable. Good show, btw.

This is a shot of the Taiyuan Tianlong Mountain Highway located in Shanxi
Province in Northwestern China. As can be seen here, it contains a 3-storey
loop. Quite a marvel of engineering, here's a cool video on it:

Located in the Phoenix Cluster, about 8.6 billion light years away, is Phoenix A, the largest black
hole that has been discovered. A previous record holder was TON 618 which was thought to be
right around the theoritical size limit. Guess we were wrong about that.
It's estimated that Phoenix A contains 1 billion times the mass of our sun and 24,100 times the mass
of our own local black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy, Sagittarius A. It's so large that,
even traveling at light speed, it would take you 71 days, 14 hours to circumvent.
